With a $7,000 donation from Walmart and the NFL Foundation, non-profit Kids & Pros was able to host a free football clinic for children in Nokesville.
According to a release, Kids & Pros – started by former Atlanta Falcons linebacker Buddy Curry and defensive back Bobby Butler – has been hosting youth football clinics for 16 years to help children get involved in sports.
The one-day clinic was held at Patriot High School at 10504 Kettle Run Road, which more than 280 kids, 100 parents, and 35 coaches attended, according to a release.
“The safe, non-contact football instruction teaches campers, parents and coaches the right way to play and how to avoid injuries –like concussions, the impact as a coach as a role model, character building through football, equipment fitting, and proper skill training and tackling techniques,” stated a release.
“Tonight was my son’s first time at a Kids & Pros Camp –and he had a blast! It’s amazing everything they do for kids. Thank you all so much for the amazing experience my son will always remember,” said parent Maryann Marcey of the experience.
