Kaiser Permanente is moving forward with plans to build a $200 million medical center on a vacant lot on Minnieville Road.
According to county documents, the parcel is located at 13285 Minnieville Road, and the company plans to build a 5-story building on the site with an urgent care facility.
Kaiser is looking to have the facility completed by 2021, and submitted plans show that they intend to offer women’s health services, surgery, adult and pediatric care, an MRI facility, a pharmacy, and a lab on the 14.69-acre parcel.
According to Kaiser’s plans, they expect to employee 445 individuals throughout the process of building and operating the facility – with 185 full-time jobs, 200 temporary construction jobs, and 60 jobs slated with future expansion of the facility.
As part of the buildout, Kaiser also intends to add “green space” to their design, including “a health park comprised of passive and active recreation elements, such as workout stations, trails, well-kept woodlands and sensory nooks…a high-quality courtyard area between the main building and parking structure for the enjoyment of visitors and patients during their stay,” stated county documents.
The plan will need to go before the Prince William Board of County Supervisors for approval before the project can proceed.
