Many people across Prince William County are receiving support through important programs that Action in Community Through Service (ACTS) provides.
To continue its work in the community, the non-profit is hosting a fundraiser.
On October 7, the IWalk for ACTS and Family Festival is taking place at Stonebridge at Potomac Town Center, 15201 Potomac Town Place in Woodbridge.
The run/walk begins at 8:30 a.m., with check-in starting at 6:30 a.m. The Family Festival follows the 5K.
It costs $30 per participant to sign up. Registration for the IWALK for ACTS as well as donation and sponsorship opportunities are available through the event’s website.
The proceeds support ACTS programs.
Last year, the non-profit assisted more than 1,500 community members who experienced domestic violence, according to a release from ACTS.
It also helped over 1,000 sexual assault survivors and offered counseling to those who faced suicidal thoughts.
A Hunger Prevention Center, housing services and thrift store are other ways that Dumfries-based organization aids local residents.
