Is Lorton getting an indoor ski facility?
Community members can help determine that tomorrow.
The Fairfax Board of Supervisors is holding a public hearing about an Interim Agreement with Alpine-X LLC.
Alpine-X submitted a proposal to construct an indoor ski facility, hotel and commercial development, and recreational areas at the I-95 Lorton Landfill.
Called “Fairfax Peak,” the project – if approved – would feature ski slopes, a space for skiing and snowboarding, as well as a bunny slope and snow tubing area.
It would also offer a mountain coaster, restaurants, a hotel and a ropes course.
More information about the project is available on the Fairfax County website.
Starting at 3:30 p.m., the public hearing will be on Tuesday.
The public may speak in person or submit a written testimony by emailing ClerktotheBOS@fairfaxcounty.gov or mailing it to 12000 Government Center Parkway, Suite 552, Fairfax, VA 22035.
Community members can also sign up to speak over the phone during the meeting or register to speak through video on the Fairfax County website.
