Prince William County is getting another ice skating rink, this time over at Stonebridge at Potomac Town Ceter.
The rink, according to The JBG Companies’ Senior Vice President Tom Sebastian, is slated to open by winter 2018 at Stonebridge.
JBG purchased the site for $190 million eighteen months ago, and is working to revitalize and grow the area by bringing in new businesses and attractions.
“We bought it with the intention of investing a lot of time and energy and money to take it to the next level,” Sebastian said.
The ice rink is a big part of that development push.
“The idea is that for twelve months out of the year, we want to have this … space that’s animated,” Sebastian said. “When you have a special events in your family or you just want to go out and have a nice meal, a nice evening with your family, we want you to think of this place first.”
In addition to the rink, an Alamo Drafthouse Cinema is being constructed at Stonebridge. It is expected to open in late summer.

A town square surrounded by five businesses will be located in front of the movie theater.
“When we think about what we want to do with Stonebridge and Potomac Town Center, we want to take it to the next level,” Sebastian said. “We want to create a first-class entertainment destination. So this is kind of the first step of the process.”
