The Hylton Performing Arts Center is hosting a “sensory-friendly” performance of the Rodgers & Hammerstein classic Oklahoma.
The performance is being held on July 22 at 2 p.m.
“This sensory-friendly performance of Prince William Little Theater’s Oklahoma! is designed to create a performing arts experience that is welcoming to all people with autism or with other disabilities that create sensory sensitivities,” stated a release.
To accommodate sensory sensitivities, the performance will include a lower sound level, lights will remain on at a low level, strobe lighting and lighting effects will be reduced.
Tickets are $25 for adults, $20 for seniors, students, or military members, and $15 for children,
Didlake, a service organization that provides services to individuals with disabilities, partnered with Prince William Little Theater to make the performance happen.
