A last-minute change in plans led one Woodbridge man to win $100,000 from the Virginia Lottery.
Horatio Johnson, an Uber driver, hit a red light while traveling home.
Instead of waiting for the light to change, Johnson pulled into the Old Bridge Road Exxon station, 3514 Old Bridge Road in Woodbridge.
While at the gas station, he purchased a “$4,000,000 Spectacular Riches” lottery ticket.
When Johnson scratched it, he realized that he had won $100,000.
“I almost flipped my lid!” Johnson said.
The $4,000,000 Spectacular Riches Scratcher game offers prizes from $20 to $4 million.
Johnson’s $100,000 winnings, which he will put into his savings and use to pay off debt, is the third prize.
Players have a 1 in 1,305,600 chance of winning $4 million and a 1 in 2.81 chance of winning any prize.
