Running important errands is becoming more feasible for members of the homeless community.
The Prince William County Department of Social Services (DSS) will be offering transportation for those who need to work, pick up medication, buy groceries, or go to medical appointments.
It’s funded through a $40,000 Community Development Block Grant from the Prince William Office of Housing and Community Development, according to a release from Prince William County.
The grant is being provided between fiscal years 2021 and 2025.
Individuals can call Prince William County Homeless Services’ Coordinated Entry System (CES) at 703-792-3366. They will receive transportation after a staff member has approved the funds.
Other services and programs are available for those who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless. To learn more information, visit the county’s website.
Housing services are also offered by Action in Community Through Service (ACTS).
