
Ready to ring in the new year right? Then take part in the First Day Hike on January 1 at Leesylvania State Park in Woodbridge.
According to a release, park experts Brendon Hanafin and Jim Klakowicz will be leading two guided hikes through the parks – one from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. and one from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m.
Participants will start with a quick tour of the Leesylvania State Park history museum before going for a hike along the Potomac Trail to Freestone Point and through Lee’s Woods Trail, ending with a bonfire by the pier, according to a release.
“There will be a concession of wassail and hot chocolate to warm you up,” stated a release.
Funds raised will benefit the Friends of Leesylvania. Reservations need to be made by December 31.
