Veterans, emergency personnel, teachers and public service members are about to be celebrated.
Next month, the Gainesville Haymarket Rotary Club and the Town of Haymarket are holding the Flags for Heroes and Families event.
As part of the second annual program, citizens may sponsor flags that honor individuals.
Proceeds from the flags, which cost between $50 and $550, will benefit Semper K9.
Semper K9, a non-profit based out of Woodbridge, gives trained service dogs to veterans.
The flags will stand at the Town of Haymarket Park, 14710 Washington Street, from June 14 to June 16. They will be lit at night.
Area representatives will participate in a ceremony that begins at 9 a.m. on June 15.
More information can be found on the Semper K9 website or by emailing Gainesville Haymarket Rotary Clubs President-Elect Terri Aufmuth at gardnbds@comcast.net.
