The Prince William County Department of Transportation will continue their work on Route 28 this week, completing “paving, pavement marking installation and shoulder stone paving” work.
Here is the work schedule for Route 28 this week:
Vint Hill Road, east of Fitzgerald Way to Shaffer Lane – eastbound and westbound lanes will have flagging operations from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Fitzgerald Way, east of Determination Drive to Vint Hill Road – eastbound and westbound bound lanes will have flagging operations from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
There will also be some potential delays on I-95 this week, as crews continue to work during the morning and overnight on the Fall Hill Avenue widening and I-95 overpass replacement in Fredericksburg.
“Crews will be paving, applying pavement markings, installing signs and traffic signal equipment, and performing final tasks as the project nears completion,” stated a release.

Interstate 95 Northbound and Southbound at mile marker 131 (Fall Hill Avenue)
Wednesday, April 19 – Thursday, April 20
Double lane closure on I-95 northbound from 9 p.m. Wednesday to 1 a.m. Thursday. Sign installation.
Double lane closure on I-95 southbound from 1 – 5 a.m. Thursday. Sign installation.
Route 1 Northbound, Southbound at Mary Washington Boulevard
Tuesday, April 18
Mobile single lane closure at intersection 6 p.m. ˗˗ 6 a.m. Crews will install new traffic signal equipment.
Fall Hill Avenue from Gordon Shelton Boulevard to Rappahannock Canal
Monday, April 17
Intermittent, mobile single lane closures 9 a.m. – 7 p.m. Pavement markings.
Mary Washington Boulevard
Intermittent, mobile single lane closures 12 p.m. − 5 p.m. Pavement markings.
