Western Prince William County drivers have a chance to hear about proposed road work.
On May 7, the county’s Department of Transportation is having a hearing about the Balls Ford Road Widening Project.
It’s scheduled for 6:30 p.m. at The Life Church, 11234 Balls Ford Road in Manassas, according to a release from Prince William County.
If the proposal passes, the road would be expanded to four lanes from Doane Drive and Ashton Avenue and divided by a 16-foot wide median.
The project also includes the installation of a shared-use path and a sidewalk along the 1.2-mile section, according to Project Manager Mary Ankers.
Officials are planning to start the proposed two-year project in fall 2020.
Meeting attendees may speak with the county’s engineering consultant, as well as staff from the Prince William County Department of Transportation and Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT).
Individuals unable to participate can email feedback to mankers@pwcgov.org or mail input to Prince William County Department of Transportation, Attn: Mary Ankers, 5 County Complex Court, Prince William, Va. 22192 until June 7.
They should use “Balls Ford Road Widening to 4 Lanes Design Public Hearing Comments” as the subject heading. The project design is available on Prince William County’s website.
