Christmas trees and wreaths are finding new uses.
Composting and recycling options are being offered in Prince William County.
Area residents can bring greenery that doesn’t contain decorations or nails to various locations.
These are the drop off sites, according to a release from the Prince William County Solid Waste Division:
- Balls Ford Road Compost Facility
- 13000 Balls Ford Road in Manassas
- Monday through Saturday, 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Sunday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
- Leesylvania State Park
- 2001 Daniel K. Ludwig Drive in Woodbridge
- Residents should drop trees off at shelter 2.
- Prince William County Landfill
- 14811 Dumfries Road in Manassas
- Monday – Saturday, 6 a.m. – 6 p.m.; Sunday, 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.
- Northern Virginia Electric Cooperative (NOVEC)
- 5399 Wellington Branch Road in Gainesville
- December 26 – January 13
- Those interested in wood-chip mulch may have it delivered for free.
The Balls Ford Road Compost Facility and Prince William County Landfill are going to be closed on New Year’s Day.
