A grant is enabling education programs to continue.
The Virginia Cooperative Extension (VCE) – Prince William was awarded $25,000. The funding, which comes from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), will help cover salaries and benefits for staff members.
VCE provides environmental and financial education programs. The classes are currently being held virtually and cover a variety of topics, including building a spending plan, loans and lending, and rental basics.
Earlier this year, the cooperative extension received a grant that was used for housing counselors.
Community members facing foreclosure or possible foreclosure, and those needing help with finances, rent or housing counseling may reach out to VCE by visiting the county’s website.
