The Good News Community Kitchen (TGNCK) is hosting an event to help women “move forward” in Occoquan on October 13.
According to a release, the organization is hosting a “Moving Forward Makeovers” women’s empowerment event from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the TGNCK headquarters at 308 Popular Alley #B.
“We are asking for a donation but I don’t want the transitioning group to avoid coming because they may not have it,” stated TGNCK founder Mercedes Kirkland-Doyle.
For those that can donate, the requested donation is $5 and one can of vegetable soup that will be used for the organization’s Mobile Meals program.
During the event, members of the Woodbridge Rotary Club will be speaking about personal finance, human resources, and confidence and self-esteem, according to Kirkland-Doyle.
