The Good News Community Kitchen (TGNCK) is hosting a “back-to-school” community cookout on August 12.
According to a release, the cookout is being held from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. at River Mill Park in Occoquan.
There will be fun activities, food, and summer refreshments, and participants will be able to take home school supplies for their children from TGNCK.
“This is to ASSIST local families with the cost of school supplies and emphasize the importance of community togetherness,” stated a release.
TGNCK will be distributing backpacks with the following items:
2 reams of Wide Ruled Paper
4 folders
2 packs of pencils
2 packs of crayons
1 pack of markers
1 pack of erasers
1 pack of index cards
1 pair of scissors
2 Composition notebooks
