A homeschool student is the winner of a local art competition.
Priscilla Hatfield won the 2021 Water Art Invitational.
Hosted by the Prince William County Service Authority, the annual event took place virtually this year.
Hatfield, a Gainesville senior, submitted a charcoal drawing that featured white horses that were riding on waves.
“Besides being an exceptional piece of artwork, Priscilla’s winning entry clearly depicts this year’s event theme, ‘The Power of Water,’” Service Authority Communications Deputy Director Kathy Bentz said in a release.
She placed third in Mixed Media, as well.
Her brother, Seth, was the Painting & Drawing runner-up five years ago.
