The owners of two vineyards are supporting the Freedom Museum.
Mike and Diane Canney from 50 West Vineyards in Middleburg and Sunset Hills Vineyard in Purcellville have donated more than $3,600 to the Manassas-based non-profit.
The gift was the proceeds of the 2018 hand-crafted Ashby Gap wine, which was sold at a Veterans Day weekend event.
They presented the check at a ceremony that was held last month, according to a release from the Freedom Museum.
“All the Freedom Museum’s activities are free and open to the public and volunteers carry out all its staff functions,” President Thomas Hueg said in a release. “Any donations to the museum are gratefully accepted and this check will be used to maintain artifacts and continue our educational programs to the community.”
Located at the Manassas Regional Airport terminal, 10600 Harry J. Parrish Boulevard, the museum seeks to recognize veterans and educate citizens about United States history.
