Parking in downtown Occoquan won’t need to be a concern for visitors during the next few months.
A free shuttle service is being offered on Saturdays between September 2 and December 16, according to a release from the town.
The transportation option will be traveling between the Old Bridge VDOT Commuter Lot, 1325 Old Bridge Road in Woodbridge, and Mamie Davis Park.
On most Saturdays, visitors may use the free shuttle service from Noon to 8 p.m. It’s expected to arrive at the VDOT bus shelter every 20 minutes, depending on traffic. Those trying to return to the commuter lot, can get back on the shuttle at Mamie Davis Park.
Service animals are permitted on the bus.
Extended shuttle hours will be offered on a few days. On September 2, the service is operating until 9:30 p.m. for the Music on Mill’s concert. The bus is running until 11 p.m. on October 28, when the Haunted Maze for the Spirit & Spirits event is held.
For HolidayFest activities that are taking place on December 2, the transportation option starts operating at 11 a.m.
A free shuttle service won’t be offered during the Fall Arts & Crafts Show on September 23. Attendees of the arts and crafts show may purchase tickets for the festival shuttles, which are available from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. They cost $8 each and two for $15.
