Students from Beville Middle School, Fred Lynn Middle School, Hampton Middle School, and Stonewall Middle School competed in the 6th annual Prince William County Schools’ (PWCS) “Battle of the Brains”.
This year’s winners were the students from Fred Lynn Middle School, who have won the competition for two years in a row, according to a release.
“The competition, an academic quiz similar to Jeopardy, focuses on preparation for the upcoming Virginia SOL examinations. The competition was streamed live for all middle schools to watch,” stated a release.
In the final round, the team from Fred Lynn was able to correctly explain “why temperature stops decreasing between 4-11 minutes of an experiment (shown on a diagram) of cooling a substance,” winning the competition, according to a release.
