Prince William County Community Foundation (PWCCF) is an organization that aims to improve the lives of county residents.
Collecting food for the hungry is one way the non-profit is meeting its mission.
Throughout November, PWCCF is running an Operation Food for the Holidays.
Community members can gather non-perishables that will be donated to Action in Community Through Service’ (ACTS) Food Pantry.

Additionally, PWCCF is holding its 2nd annual virtual 5K between November 4 and November 11.
Registration for the event costs $25 and is $10 for those who are 12 years old and younger.
Proceeds from the fundraiser will be used for the Combating Hunger on Wheels (C.H.O.W.) program, which provides free breakfast and lunch for children in need during the summer.
“What we’re trying to do is help raise money so that we can buy another vehicle so we can cover a whole lot more territory in our community, so that no child goes hungry,” Gattis explained.
