For more than 20 years, Dr. John Gonzalez served as an obstetrician-gynecologist (OB-GYN) in Manassas.
Throughout his career, he delivered at least 7,000 babies.
The former doctor, who passed away two years ago, is being honored at the annual Operation JOHN (Joy Of Holidays Never-ending) event that began last year.
“We just wanted to do something kind of happy to commemorate my father and the legacy he had in Virginia,” Greg Gonzalez, his son, told What’s Up Prince William.
Running from 1 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, the program is occurring at Novant Health UVA Prince William Medical Center, 8700 Sudley Road in Manassas.
Christmas trees and ornaments are going to be given away.
Attendees may also purchase baked goods and participate in a silent auction.
The proceeds will be donated to the GPW Health Center to support mothers who are less fortunate.
More information can be found on the Operation JOHN Facebook event.
