Those living and working in Northern Virginia may catch a glimpse of World War II aircraft later this week.
The Arsenal of Democracy 75th World War II Victory Commemoration Flyover is occurring on Friday.
About 70 aircraft are expected to fly over the Washington Mall every two minutes, beginning at 11:30 a.m., according to the Arsenal of Democracy Flyover website.
From a holding area 10 miles west of Leesburg, the aircraft will travel down the Potomac River to Washington, D.C. Once in D.C., they are turning east on Independence Avenue.
After the flyover, the aircraft are going to fly south and down the Potomac River before returning to their airports.
