The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a flash flood warning, and is expecting severe storms to move through the area.
NWS has set the flash flood watch for 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. in Prince William County, up through the Washington, D.C. and the Baltimore area. There is also a risk for severe thunderstorms.
“Thunderstorms will be capable of producing intense rainfall in a short period of time
that could result in flash flooding,” stated a release.
NWS has warned that while only one to two inches of rainfall are expected, three to four inches are possible and there is a chance that creeks, streams, and roadways could become flooded.
