An additional perk is coming to the next First Friday.
Participants of the monthly event will be able enjoy adult beverages and participate in activities on September 6.
The City of Manassas is using a new Virginia Alcoholic Beverage Control (ABC) Authority permit that allows community members to carry alcohol with them.
Businesses will be able to sell drinks that patrons can have within a specified area marked by signs, according to a release from the City of Manassas.
“Using the new permit will allow folks to move more freely enjoying all of the activities happening during a First Friday event,” City Manager Patrick Pate said in a release. “Participants at events in the City of Manassas enjoy the family friendly atmosphere and responsible attendees.”
The permit can be used for up to 12 events a year.
