A member of the fire and rescue system has been recognized.
Ryan Kirk from the Prince William County Department of Fire and Rescue (PWCDFR) received an award from the Northern Virginia EMS Council.
Based out of Gainesville, the council is a non-profit that seeks to better Northern Virginia emergency medical care.
The Lieutenant was named the 2020 Northern Virginia Regional Award winner for Outstanding Pre-Hospital Educator, according to a release from the Prince William County Fire and Rescue System.
“He gets it!” Chief Tim Keen said in a release. “Watching Lieutenant Kirk interact with the students, it is obvious that he has a passion for EMS and to pass his knowledge on to others. He is very deserving to be recognized by the NOVA EMS Council and we are proud of him!”
Kirk, a Eastern Kentucky University student, is planning to earn his bachelor’s in Emergency Medical Care and a masters in EMS Education.
