On Sunday, the Occoquan-Woodbridge-Lorton Volunteer Fire Department will be hosting an event to kick off Fire Prevention Week in Woodbridge.
The event will be held from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Stonebridge at Potomac Town Center.
“The event is hosted by Occoquan-Woodbridge-Lorton VFD and The JBG Companies; and is co-sponsored by the Dale City Volunteer Fire Department, the PWC Department of Fire & Rescue, and PHI Air Medical, AirCare 1, from Manassas Airport,” stated a release.
The American Heart Association and the Potomac Health Foundation will be at the event showcasing CPR techniques and providing home training kits to residents, according to a release.
“Firefighters and EMTs will be on hand to answer fire/EMS safety questions, provide fire safety literature, give tours of ambulances, fire engines and specialized fire apparatus, as well as demonstrate life saving equipment used to remove auto accident victims from the vehicles. Recruitment information will be provided to anyone wishing to join the ranks of our combination fire and rescue system as either volunteers or career personnel. Weather and call permitting, PHI AirCare 1 will be joining us at noon to provide a personal look at their helicopter,” stated a release.
