Are these apps over the top? Or are they clever solutions for everyday problems?
Luxe
This mobile valet may not be useful in the suburbs, but can be for people living in the city. Instead of spending 20 minutes looking for a parking spot, just request valet service using this app. Someone comes to get your car and park it for you. When you’re finished, it’ll bring the car back around. They will even fill up the gas tank if you request it.
Handy
If you’re looking for someone to mow your lawn or clean your house, this app is for you. You can even request plumbing or electrical services.
Decider
Have you ever spent a half an hour trying to decide what you want to eat? There’s an app for that. Decider weighs the pros and cons of each of your decisions and then chooses for you.
Postmates
This one isn’t available everywhere yet, but it’s definitely picked up traction recently. Postmates allows you to order food or goods from any store in your area. A courier for Postmates then picks up everything you ordered and delivers it directly to your house. The company uses your credit card info to make the purchases.
TaskRabbit
Similar to Craigslist, this app lets you publically post literally any task you need done. You have to add the maximum amount you’re willing to pay for the service, but that number stays hidden. People then have to bid on that task using a minimum pay-off. You get to choose which offer you accept.
Crowdmug
Do you only go to bars when they’re crowded? Or maybe when they’re empty? Either way, Crowdmug allows you to scope out a bar before you get there. All you have to do is put a bounty on the location and someone will snap a photo, send it to you and then take your money.
Swifto
This app finds people to walk your dog for you. You can even track where they go on your GPS, following along with a little icon on the map.
Washio
If you hate doing laundry more than anything else in the world, this app is for you. Simply leave your laundry in a basket in front of your door. Someone picks it up for you, cleans it, and returns it within a couple of days. It costs just $1.60 a pound.
Blower
While most of these apps simply add convenience to your life, this app seems downright lazy. Using the frequency sound waves created by phone vibrations, it will literally blow out your birthday candles for you. These days what can’t your phone do for you?
