Many firefighters have lost their lives while serving their community.
On Sunday morning, 119 were honored at the National Fallen Firefighters Memorial Service in Emmitsburg, Md.
Neabsco District Supervisor Victor Angry, who serves on the Dale City Volunteer Fire Department (DCVFD), attended the 38th annual program.
The National Fallen Firefighters Foundation (NFFF) hosts the event each October. It recognizes those who died in the line of duty the year before, according to the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation website.
