Fall will be in full force within a few weeks. Among the first events of the season is the Fall Arts & Crafts Show in Occoquan.
The event is being held on September 24 and 25, rain or shine, according to a release from the Town of Occoquan. Running from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., it will feature more than 200 vendors and an array of activities.
“The Fall Arts & Crafts Show is a perennial favorite in the region,” Events Director Julie Little said in a release. “And this fall, we’re offering some exciting new experiences too, such as artisan demonstrations and a fantastic art space called Imagination Alley, where kids can create while they are here for the show. Plus, we’ll host our popular beer and wine garden and some new foodie vendors in the food court. Our award-winning restaurant scene will be open for business too. We’re looking forward to a fantastic weekend!”
Participants can browse through booths featuring various products, chat with artists, and watch demonstrations.
River Mill Park will house the Beer & Wine Garden from Noon to 5 p.m. In addition to music, visitors can try beverages from Water’s End Brewery and Woodlawn Press Winery.
Those who have their eyes set on the garden or the nearby food court might want to consider parking at the Route 123 Commuter Lot and using the “Garden Express” Green shuttle.
Children have a chance to learn about and make crafts at Imagination Alley, which will be set up at 305 Mill Street. These kinds of projects include mosaics, stitching and cards. Visitors may also enjoy performances, face painting and a Teen Art Challenge Display.
Between 9 a.m. and 6 p.m. attendees may opt to ride a shuttle into town. The round-trip cost is $8; ages 12 and under ride free. Community members can pay in advance through the EventBrite app and show their receipt when being dropped off in Occoquan.
