The History and Science of Cooking:
The Cupboard is Bare!
10 a.m. – 12 p.m. $15 dollars per family up to 4.
February was historically a difficult month in years
past because after a long, cold winter, fresh fruits, vegetables, meats,
and more were either in short supply, or no longer available. Join us
at Ben Lomond Historic Site as we prepare foods reflective of what
common people would have eaten toward the end of winter in the 19th
century. The menu will consist of hoecakes and butter, beef and
dumplings, potatoes, and apple pie. Reservations are required.
Ben Lomond Historic Site, Manassas, VA, 703-367-7872.
