Event Details

The NAACP of the Prince William Area is inviting you to our 2018 Freedom Fund Banquet to be held on October 13th, 2018, 5:30 pm at Ft. Belvoir Officer’s Club/Mt. Vernon Room located at 5500 Schulz Circle #20, Fort Belvoir, VA 22060 with a social hour starting at 5:30 pm. This year’s theme is ‘Standing United in the Face of Injustice and Racial Terrorism’. The banquet will be semi-formal and will feature Jennifer Carroll-Foy, Delegate for Virginia’s 2nd District, as our guest speaker.  We are very excited about the banquet and would be honored to have you join us in our celebration.

The Freedom Fund Banquet is our major fundraiser for the year.  Funds generated by the banquet will provide the financial support needed to continue our progress toward achieving our goal of becoming “the preeminent social justice organization in the area.

In addition, you can also provide support by purchasing an ad in our Souvenir Booklet.  Ads should be camera ready in a .pdf format and emailed to freedomfund@pwnaacp.org and to cynthia7110@gmail.com by September 29, 2018. Ad prices range from $125.00 for a full-page ad to a business card size for $35.00. Our branch is pursuing a bold agenda in striving to meet this goal through the following initiatives:

➢    Partnering with schools to address the achievement gap between minority and white students
➢    Enhancing our skills and capability to address complaints from the community that allege discrimination or unfair treatment in employment, housing, and in other areas
➢    Spearheading efforts to educate the community on issues such as health disparities in African American communities, improving police/community relations, and increasing voter participation
➢    Developing and implementing actions needed to stimulate economic development and increase minority entrepreneurship
➢    Providing training and opportunities for our Youth to develop leadership skills.
We would be honored to have your support as a corporate sponsor of this event.

We would also be delighted to have you attend our banquet.  Our goal is to increase from 320 people in attendance last year to 500. Tickets are $75.00 for Adults and $40.00 for youth under 18.  All tickets can be purchased on our website at https://pwnaacp.org/2018-freedom-fund/ or by using the Submittal Form also located on the website.
