Event Details

Join us for un-BOO-lievable fun at the Manassas Park Community Center’s front parking lot for a safe alternative to trick-or-treating this Halloween!

As we navigate the challenges posed by the spread of COVID-19, the City of Manassas Park remains committed to supporting residents’ safety and best interests. 2020 has forced a lot of changes to the way Manassas Park Parks and Recreation staff hold events for the community. We are proud to present a contactless 2020 Halloween event on Saturday, October 31st from 1PM-4PM.

The City of Manassas Park has set forth guidance to help ensure safer trick-or-treating for everyone to reduce the risk of spreading COVID-19. Please follow the safety guidance below to have a fun and safe Halloween!

We will be implementing a number of safety precautions for the 2020 Halloween event, including:

RESERVATION TIMES

  • Pre-registration is required for all family members planning to attend and no one is permitted into the Halloween event area without a ticket.
  • Registration will be on Rec1 and people are only permitted to sign up for 1 time slot.
  • Each time slot has a maximum capacity of 250 people, this limit includes adults who are not actually receiving candy.
  • We are asking people to arrive no earlier than 20 minutes before their registered time slot.

MASKS

  • Face coverings are required by participants and vendors, Halloween masks do not meet the criteria of a face covering.

GLOVES

  • Participants and vendors are required to wear gloves whenever handling candy.

SOCIAL DISTANCING

  • Participants must follow all socially distance protocols set in place.
  • Vendors will need to adhere to social distancing during the event, i.e. standing at the back of their space while children are coming through to gather candy.

CONGREGATING

  • In the past, we have had games, crafts, moon bounce, etc. This year, the Halloween event will strictly be candy only.
  • Participants are not permitted to hang out in the event space after they’ve collected their candy to discourage group congregating.

With that in mind, Manassas Park Parks and Recreation Event Staff are looking for businesses/churches/civic groups/clubs/residents that would be interested in participating in our contactless Halloween event at the Community Center on Saturday, October 31st. Decorated vehicles will line up with their trunks open at the parking lot and have treats for guests to take. If you are interested in displaying your vehicle, contact Kaitlyn Collier, k.collier@manassasparkva.gov.

The 2020 Halloween event is FREE, however you must register!*
