Manassas was the site of two major battles fought on July 21, 1861, and August 28-30, 1862, along the banks of Bull Run. The horrors of battle did not end for many men when these battles ended, but continued in the numerous hospitals that were set up throughout the area, proving to be some of the bloodier battles in history to that point, the hospitals were overrun with more casualties than they expected. Join us as we visit the hospitals of Manassas, to learn about medicine at the beginning of the Civil War, about the soldiers who were treated in these hospitals, and about the families whose homes were commandeered. Reservations are required.
