Conservation Easements permanently protect open spaces and rural lands. They can encompass the full range of keeping land in private ownership, creating public recreation opportunities, preservation wildlife habitat, and/or enabling stewardship of working farms they are tailored to each property. Conservation easements are an effective toll for landowners who seek to protect the natural and historic values of their land while maintaining ownership.

Each easement is unique. They easement terms are negotiated between the landowner and a qualified conservation organization With a conservation easement, the landowner retains the typical rights of property ownership, such as choosing whether and what to farm, selling the land, and passing it on to heirs. This program will cover tax incentives for land conservation and partnership across programs.
