The Prince William and Northern Virginia area has a rich social history throughout the 18th, 19th, and 20th centuries in which beer played a part. From the role of taverns as a social and political venue throughout the 18th and 19th century, the impact of alcohol throughout the Civil War, to the economic influence of the development of breweries throughout the 20th century and prohibition, alcohol played a role in shaping the area today. Join the Historic Preservation Division and Bad Wolf Brewery as we examine the role of beer throughout American History in this three-part series of lectures, artifacts, and activities.
The series will take place at Big Bad Wolf Brewery, located at 8420 Kao Circle, Manassas, VA.
