Event Details

Manassas, VA, July 20, 2022 — ARTfactory announces Pied Piper Theatre’s auditions for Cats (Young Actors Edition).

Audition dates will be August 12 from 5pm-9pm and August 13 from 9am-4pm at Metz Middle School. Please sign up for a time to audition on www.VirginiaARTfactory.org. Prepare 30 seconds of a song that will demonstrate range and a one minute monologue that highlights acting abilities. Wear dance or athletic attire and jazz shoes (or a smooth soled shoe) for the audition. Download the Audition Form and bring it to auditions along with a headshot or recent photo.

Callbacks will be August 14 from 1pm-4pm. All cast, crew, volunteers and production staff for Cats (Young Actors Audition) must be fully vaccinated to participate in this production. Face coverings are recommended. The cast will perform without masks.

Directed and choreographed by Alex Mills, Cats (Young Actors Audition) is a one-hour adaptation of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s hit musical, specially tailored for young actors. It is set amongst a larger-than-life junkyard playground and is alive with purr-fect felines, including Rum Tum Tugger, Mr. Mistoffelees, Macavity, Jennyanydots, Old Deuteronomy, Skimbleshanks and Grizabella. The Jellicle Cats come out to play on one special night of the year—the night of the Jellicle Ball. One by one, they tell their stories for the amusement of Old Deuteronomy, their wise and benevolent leader, who must choose one of the Cats to ascend to The Heaviside Layer and be reborn into a whole new Jellicle life.

Cats (Young Actors Audition) will be performed at Metz Middle School on October 22 at 2pm and 7pm, and October 23 at 3pm. Tickets will soon be sold at www.VirginiaARTfactory.org/Tickets.
