The Manassas School Board is beginning its search for a new member.
Kenneth Nixon Jr., who was elected to serve on the board in November, has resigned.
Applications are being accepted for the role, which the board must fill within 45 days, according to a release.
The selected applicant will serve in the position until a special election takes place in November.
Resumes and letters of interest can be mailed to the Clerk of the Board at P.O. Box 520, Manassas, VA 20108, or brought to 8700 Centreville Road, Suite 400 in Manassas.
Interested individuals must submit the documents by 5 p.m. on January 18.
