Dumfries businesses and non-profits that have been impacted by the Coronavirus can receive extra support.
The town is offering a CARES Act grant for up to $10,000, according to a release.
To be considered, businesses and non-profits must have been located in the Town of Dumfries for two years, with the businesses holding a business license with the town.
Companies should not have exceeded $2.5 million in gross receipts during 2019 and should have faced at least a 25 percent decrease in revenue due to COVID-19.
Banks and businesses focus on adult entertainment or sell vape and tobacco products aren’t eligible to apply for the grant.
Franchises may be considered if they are registered in the State of Virginia and operated in Dumfries.
Grant applications, which are available online, should be emailed to PIO@dumfriesva.gov by November 15.
