Rubber ducks are making their way to deeper waters.
A Duck Splash is occurring at 2 p.m. on Saturday.
Individuals may adopt a rubber duck from Patriot Scuba in person at 305 Mill Street in Occoquan or on the Patriot Scuba website.
The ducks, which cost $5 each, will race down the Occoquan River.
Proceeds from the 12th annual event will support Patriots for Disabled Divers.
Patriots for Disabled Divers is a non-profit that offers training to more than 625 who have various disabilities, including autism and Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).
The first place prize is $500. Second through fifth place winners will each receive $100. Those who place sixth through 10th win $20.
Winners don’t need to be at the Duck Splash to win. Participants can’t keep their ducks.
