Winter break has begun for Prince William County students.
As the end of 2021 draws near, the county school system is setting its sights on some goals that are the center of its draft strategic plan, Vision 2025 Launching Thriving Futures.
Prince William County Public Schools (PWCS) Superintendent LaTanya McDade spoke about the outline in a letter to families, employees and community members last week.
The Prince William County School Board is expected to approve the draft in January. Members of the public may view it and provide feedback on the PWCS website.
Four commitments are included in the draft strategic plan.
Through the first one – Learning and Achievement for All – the division wants to make sure students have an opportunity to succeed.
Providing safe, supportive and inclusive environments is the aim of the second commitment, Positive Culture and Climate.
For its third objective, Family and Community Engagement, PWCS hopes to partner and enhance communication with families, as well as build stronger connections with organizations and businesses.
The final aspiration is Organizational Coherence, which seeks to ensure that the school system and individual schools have the same goals.
