The last hearing for the Virginia State Corporation Commission (SCC) on the Dominion power lines project is in Haymarket on May 2.
The hearing will take place at Battlefield High School at 15000 Graduation Drive at 7 p.m., according to a release.
According to a release, several elected officials and commissioners for the SCC will be in attendance at the hearing.
The hearings are part of a continuing saga over a 230 kilovolt power line, according to Dominion’s website.
There are currently five potential routes for the powerlines, some of which would be above ground lines that cut through property in the Haymarket, Gainesville area, which has been a source of upset for many residents.
Amazon has also made plans to bring a data center to the county, which is the driver for the project, according to Haymarket Mayor David Leake, despite the fact that the project’s cost will be passed on to Dominion’s customers, not Amazon.
