The process of acquiring a dog license has changed in Prince William County.
PetData, Inc. is now handling pet licenses, according to a release from Prince William County. The county previously processed licenses.
Pet owners can get a license by visiting the PetData website and clicking “Online” under the “License Now” tab. Rabies certificates may be uploaded, faxed, mailed or emailed.
To receive a license through the mail, send rabies certificates and checks or money orders to: Prince William County Pet Licensing, c/o PetData, PO Box 141929, Irving TX 75014-1929
Checks should be made out to Prince William County.
Those needing licenses for more than four pets may obtain a kennel license by reaching out to the Zoning Office at 703-792-6830 or ZoningCounters@pwcgov.org.
Anyone who receives a 2021 license will be able to create a free PetHub account, whether they can keep a record of their pet’s medical history and sign up for alerts in case their pet is found.
