The Diving into Valuable Enrichment (DIVE) Foundation held the ribbon cutting for their new office in Woodbridge last week.
The Prince William Chamber of Commerce hosted the ribbon cutting for the non-profit, which is now located at 13895 Hedgewood Dr., Suite 205.
Young adults, ages 17 to 25, are the target audience for the non-profit, which offers an 8-week internship program and professional development courses for young adults.
The goal of the organization is to provide young adults with the skills they need to succeed and get a job, following the completion of their internship, according to the DIVE Foundation’s Director Alena Coplin.
“For two weeks in the beginning, it’s kind of like a bootcamp. That’s where professional attire [development] takes place, where you learn how to type up an email…how to answer a phone – so telephone etiquette, goals – we cover goals, we cover budgeting, we cover so many things. So it’s not just professional development, it’s also life skills,” said Coplin.
Coplin is a product of the non-profit herself, having completed the program before taking on her current role.
