The Dale City Volunteer Fire Department (DCVFD) took part in the opening Ceremonial Flag Flying Day this morning in Washington, D.C.
According to DCVFD member Victor Angry, the ceremony was held at the U.S. Capitol building, where 112 flags were presented to present the firefighters that had died in the line of duty this year.
There was a police escort following the ceremony to the Fallen Firefighter Memorial Chapel in Emmitsburg, Maryland, stated Angry.
Members of DCVFD’s Honor Guard paid their respects to two fallen DCVFD firefighters who have bricks in their honor located on the memorial grounds, stated Angry.
