The Dale City Civic Association (DCCA) is collecting donations in their second annual “Community Backpack” drive.
The organization is asking for members of the community to donate backpacks, school supplies, or make a monetary donation.
Last year, DCCA distributed 150 backpacks filled with supplies and they would like to increase that number this year.
All of the items collected will be distributed to Dale City-area schools, and school administrators and guidance counselors will distribute them to children in need.
“Let’s pitch in and ensure as many children in schools in the Neabsco District are given needed assistance as possible,” stated DCCA Secretary Patti Beattie.
The drive ends on August 18. Donations can be dropped off at several locations in Dale City and Woodbridge.
