COVID-19 vaccine recipients might want to push back any vaccine appointments they have.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) is encouraging those who received the dose to wait at least 14 days before getting other vaccines. This includes the flu shot and shingles shot, according to a release from Prince William County.
If COVID-19 vaccine recipients need an emergency shot, such as rabies and tetanus, less than 14 days afterward they may do so.
The Prince William Health District (PWHD) can’t administer the COVID-19 vaccine to anyone who received any vaccines, including emergency shots, within 14 days beforehand.
Those who would like to schedule a vaccine appointment may complete a waitlist application.
You can read more information about the waitlist and second doses of the COVID-19 vaccine here.
Questions about COVID-19 and the waitlist should be directed to the PWHD COVID-19 Call Center, which is available at 703-872-7759 between 9 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., Monday through Sunday.
