High school students have joined the Prince William County School Board.
The board named its student representatives for the 2019-20 year.
Freedom High School senior Tahera Hamidi and Stonewall Jackson High School junior Benjamin Kim will serve in this role.
Hylton High School senior Eliana Black is the alternate, according to a release from Prince William County Public Schools (PWCS).
The student representatives are responsible for gathering opinions from their peers about various issues. They will also attend School Board meetings and lead a Student Representative Senate that has been established.
Student representative applicants make up the senate.
These are the Student Representative Senate members for the 2019-20 year:
