Over time, bank statements and tax returns can pile up.
County residents have an opportunity to get rid of them and other confidential documents.
On October 26, a free document shred event will be hosted by the Prince William County Solid Waste Division.
Participants may bring as many as four boxes of paper that are 18 inches long, 12 inches wide, and 15 inches tall or smaller.
The confidential documents can be dropped off at Prince William County Landfill, 14811 Dumfries Road in Manassas and Chris Yung Elementary School, 12612 Fog Light Way in Bristow.
Community members aren’t required to remove paper clips and staples.
More guidelines can be found on the county’s website.
