More community members will be able to receive the COVID-19 vaccine at one time.
A Community Vaccination Center (CVC) will start operating in the Prince William Health District (PWHD) next week, according to a release from the Joint Information Center.
The large clinic is designed to administer between hundreds and thousands of doses daily. It will be located at Gander Mountain, 14011 Worth Avenue in Woodbridge.
Organized by the Virginia Department of Emergency Management (VDEM), CVCs are set up in places where there are a high number of COVID-19 related illnesses and deaths and larger vulnerable populations.
The CVC will administer doses to community members listed on the state’s pre-registration. Those interested in registering should visit the Vaccinate Virginia website or call 1-877-VAX-IN-VA.
Adults who are 65 and older, individuals at least 16 years old who have certain conditions, as well as correctional facility, homeless shelter, and migrant labor camp residents may receive the vaccine.
